This unique job allows you to cook in paradise, gets you out of the city to make some real money, and you may get closer to the authenticity you seek on your culinary journey. We're looking to start you in May or sooner. The season officially hits with a fervor Memorial Weekend and last 23 weeks. Virtue Cider is located in Fennville, MI on a 48-acre farm that is home to our cider making operation, our taproom and bottle shop, an array of trails and gardens, and our heritage breed animals. The line cook / garde manger role is your opportunity to work on our culinary team in a beautiful setting. The grind can be intense, but fun and rewarding. You walk with cash tips each night and that’s on top of a generous hourly, which is paid every other Friday. We're also closed between 7pm and 8pm each night [depending on the day] - plenty of time to enjoy life before and after your shift. We're a simple, local, ingredient-driven menu that requires efficient prep times for fast service and execution at high volumes. If you have garde manger experience or enjoy garde manger, you may be anexcellent fit for this position. A well-appointed knife roll a huge plus. Equal tip out with foh, makes this the highest paying line cook job on the Lakeshore - like no joke - cooks that come from the city get enlightened real fast.You will be working in a female-led kitchen for an ex-PDX chef, Anne Garcia (Le Pigeon, Paley's Place, Måurice), she's professional, respectful and doesn't toleratenoxious behavior, actually none of us on staff do. Qualifications Lightning quick, clean and efficient Independent and not toxic [if you struggle with this, this job is not for you] Consistent with prep and execution Knows the weeds, loves the weeds, gets out of the weeds calmly Works weekends On your feet for long periods of time (duh) Respectful team player Effective and noncombative communication skills Quick thinking with attention to detail Exceptional organizational habits At least 2 year of kitchen experience While not a requirement, acover letter would be appreciated.
